SOS Emergency Transmission Update — It Gets Worse

An update to the prior emergency transmission concerning early voting records in Texas. It just got worse.
49 and 66 days after the vote, the SOS vendor changed the output format from day-to-day accounting to a cumulative format. Now, cumulative format in and of itself is fine — but they forgot to include the day of voting in the data itself.
The SOS paved the way for this back in 2025 by writing advisory 2025-17, which absolved counties of having to follow the Texas Election Code requirements. Wouldn't it be nice to have that power? And let it be noted: the SOS does not.
